Watch this video to learn more about how to navigate and operate the Blast Golf app once you have registered and paired your sensor.

Congratulations! You have successfully paired your sensor and are ready to take an action. Before you get started, let’s go over the main features of the app.

On the top right corner of the screen, you’ll see the battery percentage of your sensor, and the club you are connected to. When connected to the sensor, the Bluetooth icon will turn white.

Before you make an action, confirm that your attachment is firmly attached to the end of the grip of your club and the head of the Blast logo on the sensor is pointed down the center of the shaft towards the toe of the club. You are now ready to make a swing or putt, and remember, you must hit a ball. Let’s hit a putt and I’ll walk you through the app’s main functions: Settings, Metrics, Camera, and History.

As soon as you make contact with a ball, you’ll notice a blue bar move across the screen, meaning a swing or stroke was detected. SIRI will read your metrics to you. Smart Feedback is one of the app’s most enjoyable features as it allows you to practice without you having to look at your phone or tablet after every swing or putt.

You can swipe in the middle of the screen to view more metrics, or tap the #1 icon, where you can view up to 4 metrics at a time. Tap the blue information I’s next to each metric to learn more about what the metrics mean, why they are important, pro and amateur averages, and drills to improve your metrics. The same videos can also be found on Blast Motion’s YouTube page.

Tap the X in the top right corner to return to the main screen. Next tap the folders icon, History, to view all the swings and putts you’ve made with the Blast sensor. History is also the home of Sessions, All Actions, and Statistics. Sessions are automatically created every 30 minutes, and store data chronologically. Tap the X to return to the main screen.

To film an action, first tap the Camera icon. Position your phone or tablet in your desired filming position then tap ‘Start’ to begin recording. Let the video roll and you can hit multiple balls, or an entire bucket while the camera records everything. When you stop the recording and go back to your History, by tapping X in the top right corner, you’ll notice that the app automatically merges the metrics with the video and also trim the video into individual swing clips.

To view your video, tap one of the history tiles. Press the play button to watch the video. You’ll notice the 3D metrics are synced with the video. Tap the screen and hold down the play button to scrub back or forward throughout the swing. Tap the screen again and use the left or right arrows to move frame by frame throughout the swing. To view different metrics associated with the video, swipe in the middle of the screen.

Finally, tap the sharing icon in the top left corner to share your highlights and brag with your friends, send your video to your coach for help, or show a student their before and after.

To switch from one club to another, first remove the attachment and sensor from your previous club, then place them on your new desired club. Then, in the app, tap ‘Settings’, then in the ‘Club Settings’ tab, scroll up or down to find the club you wish to switch to and tap the white connection icon to the right of the club’s name. The app will then say, ‘Your sensor is currently assigned to another club. Would you like to disconnect from the current club and connect to this one?’ Tap Yes, lightly shake your club, and you’ll hear a connection tone. You are now connected to your new club and ready to make a swing, it’s that simple.

To add a new club, tap Settings, scroll up until you see the ‘Add New Club’ button, tap in the white type box, scroll up to find your club of choice and tap the arrow in the top right corner to continue. Select your brand and tap the arrow, select model and arrow to continue, create a unique nickname for your player or club, select Lie, Loft, Length, and Handedness. Congratulations you’ve successfully added a club. Tap add another club or tap OK to continue.
